Mary and I are traveling this morning to Kingsport, Tennessee to do a conference for the Westminster Presbyterian Church. The Lord willing, I hope to deliver six messages on the theme, “How Should We Live? Solus Christus!”—one this evening, two on Saturday morning, and three on the Lord’s Day.

My dear wife Mary spent scores of evenings working silently at my side in my study with me during the past year of pandemic restrictions pecking away at writing a book on a subject that has been burning in her soul for years. I am grateful to report that her new book—“Teach Them to Work: Building a Positive Work Ethic in Our Children” (Reformation Heritage Books, 224 pages)—which deals with both parental and practical examples, has finally arrived!

We are excited to announce the publication of Simonetta Carr’s masterful book, “Questions Women Asked: Historical Issues, Timeless Answers,” which provides captivating biographies of 31 women throughout church history.
Each biography draws attention to a major question that each woman asked in her lifetime—most of which are still being asked today. This is a page-turner—certainly one of the best books RHB has ever published for women—and by the way, men will enjoy reading it as well! I thoroughly enjoyed doing a final edit of this remarkably informative and practical book.

Yesterday my Queen’s dear parents, Henry and Lena Kamp, were married 65 years. They are still living together in their own home and doing very well, by God’s grace, both spiritually and physically. Everyone in the family loves them dearly—including all of us in-laws.
My father-in-law commands deep respect by his quiet demeanor of godliness. Each of his words counts for at least five! And to her great embarrassment, I keep telling my cheerful mother-in-law that she is the best mother-in-law in the world because my dear wife Mary is a lot like her, so I owe my mother-in-law far more than I can ever repay her. Please pray that God will continue to bless our dear parents in His superlative grace and mercy in Christ Jesus.
We’ve had a wonderful time with our entire family in Florida for the last few days: our three children and their spouses and our seven grandchildren. What fun! So restful, enjoyable, and restorative—and I continue to feel well. God is amazingly good. I feel like David when he confessed, “Who am I and what is my house that thou hast brought us hitherto?”
Good news! My heart reverted to a normal sinus rhythm last Friday evening, so I have had no atrial fibrillation between then and now, which I see as an answer to the prayers of many of you, and for which I am very grateful.
The doctors I have consulted have encouraged me to proceed to speak at the Twin Lakes Fellowship conference in Mississippi (about 180 conservative Presbyterian pastors are present, mostly PCA—see picture below), so Mary and I have been enjoying our time here in Florence, Mississippi. My assignment is to give three evening addresses on revival. On Monday evening, I spoke on “‘Understanding the Age of the Spirit and Revival.” Last night, I spoke on “Praying Earnestly and Enduring Steadily for the Revival of God’s Work.” Tonight I hope to close the conference with an address on “Rend the Heavens, Lord, and Our Hearts!”
I am enjoying my time with many brothers, including Ray Rhodes, pictured below, an RHB author who is working on a biographical book on the lives of a number of Puritan women who were known for their godliness. RHB book sales have been brisk at this conference, which is always a healthy sign.
How does the Holy Spirit impact the life of a believer?
In this video, I explain that the natural man is full of sin, but the work of the Holy Spirit helps to make us increasingly more Christ-like. The Holy Spirit also helps us to love the Word of God more and the ways of God.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you” (John 14:26).
